According to the United States Department of Labor website, Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.
For many of us, Labor Day holds a different meaning. It’s when the kids should be going back to school. It’s when the pools close for the summer. It’s when college football kicks off. It’s when we put away our white shoes until Memorial Day. And most importantly, Labor Day is when we fire up our grills and smokers for one last summer time hoorah. Yeah I know we do this all year long and every chance we get, but Labor Day, to me, is a “Must Grill” day. Over the years, it’s become a true “Labor of Love.”
