In my last post, I mentioned the Kooky Canuck’s Kookamonga Challenge. I said I’d be up for taking the challenge, just not alone. I know my limits and I know that I could never finish this burger in under an hour. However, I still think it would be fun to give it a try with a group of friends. Late yesterday that team was assembled. And a notable team it is:
- Kevin Martin – http://www.burnmymouth.com
- Tiffany Langston - http://www.tiffanytastes.com/
- Shannon Little - http://memphisfoodie.wordpress.com/
- Ken Rogers - http://kensfoodfind.blogspot.com/

We’re all heading to Kooky Canuck next Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 6 p.m. to team up again the Kookamonga Burger. Even for 5 people, this should be a hefty challenge. Of course it won’t be an official Kookamonga Challenge. For that, one and only one person must eat the whole burger. On that burger, there’s 4 lbs of ground beef, 2 lbs of bun and 1.5 lbs of cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions and pickle. That’s 7.5 pounds of burger awesomeness that only 10 individuals have ever eaten in less than 60 minutes. In the official challenge, the fries are optional, but they’re so good. I can’t imagine them going to waste.
I really can’t wait and I’m pretty sure my teammates are just as excited too. I’ll be sure to get plenty of photos and maybe some video clips for the blog. If you’re in the neighborhood next week, please stop in and cheer us on. Bring some Tums or Lipitor, we’ll probably need it.
